Shop Small Business Saturday in Leesburg

Local retailers gear up for a busy day.

After shopping the big box store craziness of Black Friday, Leesburg retailers are hoping people find relief on Small Business Saturday at local shops in historic downtown Leesburg.

“Small Business Saturday is a wonderful idea,” said Jack Azar, owner of Manhattan Pizza and Luv n'berry.

“There are so many locally owned businesses and we often get lost among the big businesses running their promotions this time of year," Azar added.

Azar said in the past they do notice a boost in business on Small Business Saturday and he hopes people will stop by one of their four locations for lunch or dinner.

White and Ivory, a locally owned jewelry store specializing in certified diamonds and designer jewelry, is located at 2 Cardinal Park Dr, SE, Suite 201 B in Leesburg.

They are running a holiday special which is buy one gift, get one free.  The price of the free gift ranges from $40 to $300.

White and Ivory’s Andrea Park said for every $250 spent, there are different levels for the free gift.

At the Pink Finch,  items listed on the Etsy page and Blog will be on sale starting Friday,

Items will be available for pick up to avoid shipping costs.  Pick up will take place Dec. 8 at the holiday market or by arrangement with the seller on a case by case basis.

Holiday Items will be 20 percent off (Ornaments, Wreaths, Pine Sprigs, Table Runners);all tables will be 15 percent OFF. Spend $50+ and receive a free ornament valued at $8.

Also hoping to lure customers, Sugar Magnolia and its next-door neighbor Pure Moxie, a women’s clothing boutique that opened over the summer, are partnering to offer incentives to shoppers. Customers can enter a drawing for a $25 gift card from each store. Both stores are located in the building at 109 S. King Street in Leesburg.

Sugar Magnolia’s owner Maryanna Conboy said they have a sale rack with up to 50 percent off, as well as 25 percent off long dresses.  The store is filled with scarves, jewelry and new apparel for the holiday season, she said.

“We have the blue Small Business Saturday mat out front and we look forward to seeing everyone,” Conboy added.
