Leesburg Business Appreciation Award Winners Named

The town of Leesburg announces the winners, and honorable mentions, during a ceremony Wednesday night.

For the 12th consecutive year, the Leesburg Town Council and the Leesburg Economic Development Commission recognized town business businesses with the Leesburg Business Awards, presenting the awards during a ceremony Wednesday attended by nearly 300 people.

“The nominees and winners represent the best of Leesburg,” said Marantha Edwards, the Town’s Economic Development Manager. “The range and diversity of industries included among the winners speaks volumes about the strength of the Town’s business community.”

In addition, more 170 businesses that have been in business in the Town of Leesburg for 25 years or more received special recognition as the towns’ Legacy Businesses.

Here’s the list of Leesburg Business Award winners and honorable mentions in the eleven award categories are:

Ambassador Award - Celebrates a business or organization that has fostered a positive image of Leesburg as a business location or tourist destination.

  • Winner: ProJet Aviation
  • Honorable Mention: Visit Loudoun

Community Steward Award - Celebrates a for-profit business that participates actively in the community by contributing its resources.

  • Winner: Capital Computers & Networks, Inc.
  • Honorable Mention: Loudoun Chapter of the NAACP

Environmental Award - Celebrates a business that conducts or participates in activities that benefit the environment through its business practices and policies on an on-going basis.

  • Winner: Chick-fil-A
  • Honorable Mention: Pong Research

Heritage Award - Celebrates a thriving business that has made a long-term commitment to preserving the integrity and character of Leesburg’s Historic Downtown.

  • Winner: St. John the Apostle Roman Catholic Church
  • Honorable Mention: Ellisdale Construction

Home-Based Business Award - Celebrates the owner of an independent product- or service-based business, operated from a residence located within Leesburg, who serves as a small business advocate with the business community.

  • Winner: Miles LeHane Companies, Inc.
  • Honorable Mention: AKCS, LLC

Innovations Award - Celebrates a business that has brought recognition to Leesburg through creative marketing efforts, innovative business ventures and/or unique product development.

  • Winner: Omnilert
  • Honorable Mention: Mason Enterprise Center

New Business Award - Celebrates a new business started within the last 3 years that, while respectful of Leesburg’s past, represents the best of the Town’s future.

  • Winner: MacDowell Brew Kitchen
  • Honorable Mention: King Street Coffee

Public Art Award - Celebrates a business that makes a contribution to the development of the Town’s public art program, or actively supports the arts within the Town of Leesburg.

  • Winner: Loudoun Symphony
  • Honorable Mention: Friends of Leesburg Public Art

Veterans Affairs Award - Celebrates an individual, business or organization that supports programs for veterans of all conflicts.

  • Winner: DB4 Consulting
  • Honorable Mention: Strong Castle

The Rising Star Award - Celebrates a Leesburg business which has been in operation for less than one year and has set itself apart from other businesses through its exemplary achievements. 

  • Winner: Chimole

The George C. Marshall Award - Celebrates an individual who has demonstrated an exemplary commitment to the community above and beyond business contributions.

  • Winner: Tina Johnson
