New Pediatric Care Office Opens in Leesburg

Children & Adolescent Pediatric Services (CAPS) celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday. Their office is located at 161 Fort Evans Rd, NE, Suite 330, next to Wolf Furniture in Leesburg. 

“We wish you the greatest success and you are already adding so much to Leesburg”, said Mayor Kristen Umstattd who officiated the ceremony. Leesburg’s Town Manager, John Wells and Economic Development Manager Marantha Edwards were also in attendance. 

CAPS opened on August 27 and has been quickly building its patient base. Patient Services Director Cynthia Alvarez said they are seeing an average of five patients a day.  

The multi-lingual office offers free introductory appointments for expectant mothers who are looking for a pediatrician. The new office uses the latest in medical technology and patient care and offers weekend hours.

During the event, Dr. Sosun Faqiri thanked everyone for their support. She earned her medical degree in Kabul, Afghanistan and later completed her residency at UNDMJ Cooper University Hospital in New Jersey. 

Dr. Faqiri is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Since graduating, she has been working with Nemours AI DuPont Hospital for Children in Delaware, which is one of the Top 5 hospitals in the country. She has already made her first newborn visit at INOVA Loudoun Hospital, she said.
