Orvis Leases Space in Village at Leesburg

The outdoor retailer expects to open its 6,000-square-foot store later this year.

Outdoor goods retailer Orvis has committed to space in the Village at Leesburg, according to an announcement from the Town of Leesburg Thurusday.

Orvis has signed a lease for about 6,000 square feet of retail space at the intersection of Russell Branch Parkway and Crosstrail Boulevard east of the Wells Fargo bank and expects to open late this year.

Charles Orvis found Orvis Company in Vermont in 1856, offering high-quality fly-fishing equipment. Orvis donates 5 percent of its pre-tax profits to conservation efforts nationwide.

“Orvis’ decision to locate in Leesburg matches up perfectly with market data showing strong opportunity for retail growth in the sporting goods category,” said Marantha Edwards, Leesburg’s Economic Development Director, in a press release from the town. “Their status within the market as a “destination retailer”, the result of their long-standing reputation for excellent customer service and high quality selections, brings a new dimension of retail to Leesburg.”

The landlord at the Village also welcomed the company.
