RxAlly Opens Its Doors in Leesburg

A ribbon-cutting and open house was held Wednesday to officially welcome the company.

Leesburg officials on Wednesday officially welcomed a new corporate neighbor—RxAlly, a private company made up of a national network of drug chains and pharmacies—with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the company's new offices.

Mayor Kristen Umstattd and Supervisor Ken Reid presided over the ceremony with RxAlly CEO Bruce Roberts at the company's new location, 201 Loudoun St., SE.

“I’ve been a resident of Leesburg for 36 years and owned businesses here in Leesburg over that period of time,” said Roberts, who previously headed up the National Community Pharmacists Association and is the founder and owner of three pharmacies and a home healthcare business in Loudoun County. “I’m just really pleased to be able to have this new entity headquartered here and to continue to make this my home.”

The company, which launched in February, provides a number of services and products to a large network of pharmacies nationwide.

The RxAlly Web site tells the company's story: It is waging a battle against $290 billion per year in avoidable health care costs and helping to meet the need for greater access to care. While the savings can be significant, the patient deserves better health. The primary focus is to have pharmacists more engaged in making sure medicine is used correctly and ultimately saving health care costs.

RxAlly will reportedly pay pharmacists for doing additional work and adding new services such as immunizations, after receiving a payment from health insurers, according to a story in Drug Store Review.

“We’re really happy to be in downtown Leesburg. I think it reflects a little bit about who we are as RxAlly,” said Jill McNabb, vice president of marketing and communications for the company. “Pharmacists are very embedded in their communities. They’re very much a part of their communities. Everyone knows their pharmacists and feels trusted with them and in that same sense we’re happy to be a part of the community.”

RxAlly will occupy a floor and a half at their new space. To learn more visit RxAlly online
