The Guest Room Moves to Downtown Leesburg

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday, April 11, to celebrate the new, contemporary location.

celebrated their new location on Wednesday, April 11, during a ribbon cutting ceremony officiated by Mayor Kristen C. Umstattd.

The business recently moved into the historic downtown area, from it’s previous location at 1002 East Market Street. 

“This is long overdo,” said store owner Debbie Mattens, It’s taken about five years to find a new place, she added.

“The building that we were in was very old. We really needed to find something new and something updated,” Mattens said. “We also wanted to downsize. We do a lot of design work now and you really don’t need that much floor space if you’re doing a lot of design work. So this seems to be just the perfect fit for us.”

The Guest Room offers interior decorating, design services, and custom furniture made in America. Other services include flooring, window treatments and upholstery services.

“I think there’s a charm that goes into an environment like this,” said Simply Sage Interiors Designer Katie Liverman. “People can walk through, it feels more like a home, and that’s real important when you’re trying to teach clients or customers about furniture."

Liverman said she loved the new space and thinks it will be a positive addition to the town.
