Two Ribbon Cuttings for New Leesburg Businesses Friday

Town to welcome Leesburg School of Photography at Photoworks and Loudoun Pilates Studio.

The first Friday of the months is always a busy one for downtown Leesburg, and even more so with not one, but two ribbon cutting ceremonies.

At 4 p.m., Mayor Kristen Umstattd will officiate a ribbon cutting ceremony at Loudoun Pilates Studio in The Mansion at Waverly Park, 604 South King Street.

“I am thrilled to be back in Leesburg from Colorado. I was very inspired by the breadth and depth of Pilates offerings in the Denver area and in and around Washington, DC area,” owner Amy Hershey said in a city release. “I am hoping to bring that culture – in which clients and teachers alike come together to learn and to build an interactive community of Pilates and healthy movement – to Loudoun County.”

At 6 p.m., Umstattd travels to The Leesburg School of Photography at Photoworks, 2A Loudoun Street SW, for the second ribbon cutting.

Photoworks is forming the school with The Image Center. Classes begin March 11 for students from all backgrounds and skill levels.

Of course, this is also Leesburg's First Friday, when businesses stay open late and live entertainment, art exhibits and more is open to downtown patrons. Enjoy!
