Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital Seeking Applicants for Nursing Scholarships

The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking Loudoun County residents or Loudoun County employees to apply for a nursing scholarship. The application deadline is Tuesday, April 8.

The Ladies Board has been awarding nursing scholarships since 1959 when an initial 16 scholarships were awarded. Last year, 70 scholarships were awarded in amounts from $750 to $2000 for a total of $104,000. The Ladies Board is gratified that through the sales at the Hospital Gift Shop and Twice Is Nice thrift shop in Leesburg, the Lights of Love remembrance program and the annual Rummage Sale, they are able to share with the community and Inova Loudoun Hospital the results of their volunteer time and energy.

 Applicants must live or work in Loudoun County and be enrolled in or accepted into an accredited school of nursing.  Funds are not available for pre-clinical studies. A transcript is required and a student may be awarded only two consecutive Ladies Board scholarships. Students must have completed one semester (nine credits) of nursing classes, or 30 undergraduate credits to be considered.

Applications are available at the following locations in Leesburg: Twice Is Nice thrift shop, 305 E Market St.; the Gift Shop at Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway; the Inova Loudoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 235 Old Waterford Road, NW; and online at www.ladiesboard.org.
