Annual Rotary Race Scheduled for New Years Day

The challenging 10K race and 4K fun run/walk will begin at Ida Lee and will continue through the 1,000 acre Morven Park Estate and Equestrian Center.

 

There's still time to sign up for the , scheduled for Jan.1, 2012. The challenging 10K race and 4K fun run/walk will take you through the rolling hills of the Morven Park Estate and Equestrian Center. The course is approximately 80 percent paved or gravel roads and 20 percent grass.

Registration for the 10K race is $30 through December 31 and $35 on race day. Registration for the 4K race is $24 through December 31 and $28 on race day.

Participants should gather in the gymnasium of the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center, located just north of downtown Leesburg, off of Route 15.

The 4K Run/Walk begins promptly at 10:20 a.m. and the 10K will start at 10:40 a.m. The gym will open at 9 a.m. A warm-up will take place in a heated gymnasium. Enjoy live music, food and drinks, awards, and lots of prizes.

The race is a long-standing community event that has raised over $211,000 for local charities since 1998. To learn more click here.
