Spring is in the air, even if it is only March, which is sure to get people in the mood to treat themselves to tasty frozen treat. Milwaukee Frozen Custard is sure to please the palate with its creamy, sweet, (insert adjective here) authentic frozen custard.
Al Casey, who opened the first store in Chantilly, franchised the store to a couple who opened the Leesburg shop in 2007. Locals, who love frozen custard, refer to Milwaukee Frozen Custard as the "real deal."
Frozen custard is different than ice cream or gelato and it is all based on the specific way it is crafted. Made with real Wisconsin cream and 1.4% egg yolk, the custard is then turned into a machine that adds less air to the product than is typical with ice cream, leading to a denser frozen treat. It is then served before being refrozen, so it remains soft--great for licking off a cone!

When visiting the shop, don't miss the brownie a la mode. It is a local favorite.
