When Angel and Pia Miranda moved to Northern Virginia, they didn't know how difficult it would be to find a Chicago style hot dog. Soon, however, they came to realize that they had left their beloved lunch or late night snacks back in the Windy City.
But that didn't mean that they wanted to keep it that way. In 2008, they opened Windy City Red Hots in Ashburn, followed by a second location in downtown Leesburg in 2010.
They are serving up some of Chicago's favorites: a beef hot dog with mustard, relish, onions, tomato, pickle, sport peppers and celery seed atop a poppy seed bun, cheese dogs, chili cheese dogs, sausages, pizza puffs, Italian beef, chili cheese fries, cheese fries, wunderbars (chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick) and a variety of soft drinks and bottled beers.
