Five Things Happening in Leesburg

1. Enjoy this year's Farm to Fork event, which is an 11-day culinary celebration of local food, developed to honor the art of collaboration at restaurants throughout Loudoun county. The event brings together Loudoun’s fine farmers with restaurant chefs, vintners, a brewer and distiller. All participating chefs and restaurant owners have committed to using at least 70 percent locally sourced food July 26 through Aug. 5, when restaurant patrons may order from specially created Farm-to-Fork. Loudoun menus featuring some of the county's best locally grown and raised produce, beef, lamb and poultry, complemented by a selection of Loudoun wine, brew and spirits. Be sure to visit any of the 22 fine culinary sites to discover the bounty of Loudoun and the skills and passions of the people who bring your food and wine, brew and spirits from field to table. 

2. Enjoy live Jazz with Rob Maletick & Friends Thursday at Velocity Five. The band will perform at 7 p.m. and the event is free to attend. 

3. The 77th Annual Loudoun County Fair will continue to take place through the weekend. Experience a true country fair featuring 4-H animals, crafts, carnival rides, entertainment, food, livestock auctions, professional bull riding, and a mini demolition derby. Enjoy a carnival, children's activities, educational demonstrations, a pet show, vendors, kiss-a-pig contest, and much more.

4. at Leesburg's very own Books and Other Found Things, on Saturday beginning at noon. Author Keith F. Shovlin will be on hand to sign copies of his novel, Polk's Soliloquy.

5. during Leesburg's Acoustic on the Green event this Saturday beginning at 7 p.m. Bring a picnic and lawn chairs or a blanket, and enjoy the weekly summer concert series on the Town Hall Green. Please, no alcoholic beverages, pets, or smoking. In case of inclement weather, the show will be moved inside the Town Hall.
