Five Things to Know This Week

1. A fundraiser will be held Five Below during normal business hours all this week, which will benefit the Joe Cassella Foundation. The 501(c)(3) organization offers financial assistance to the families of children who are ill in the Washington DC Metro area to allow families to focus on supporting their children in their time of need. Ten percent of your purchase will be donated to the foundation during normal business hours. Click on the link above for more information regarding your donation. 

2. The Loudoun Arts Council and The Village At Leesburg are sponsoring Arts in the Village. This gallery will be home to a collection of some of Loudoun's most creative people working together feature Loudoun's own visual artists, poets, writers and performing artists. If you are interested in learning more and possibly joining this coop, make sure to attend an informational meeting beginning at 1 p.m. The event will take place at 1601 Village Market Blvd., Suite 116, in Leesburg.

3. A Salsa and Bachata social will be held at the new Dance Kings Studios, 21 W Market Street, this Thursday, March 22 beginning at 7 p.m. Stop by to dance, party and celebrate the newest addition to Leesburg's Nightlife!

4. Celebrate 100 years with the Girl Scouts on Saturday, March 24. Stop by the Rust Library where you'll be able to enjoy a play about the Girl Scout founder, Juliette Gordon Low. You'll also be able to browse an informational display, enjoy cupcakes and activities for children and maybe become a Girl Scout too. This event is for all ages. 

5. The 3rd Annual Garden Symposium will be hosted by the Loudoun County Master Gardeners on Saturday, March 24 beginning at 9 a.m. The event will, which will take place at the Holiday Inn Hotel, will feature a wide range of speakers, including a professor from Virginia Tech, two extension agents, a local beekeeper and an organic gardener. Learn how each one has created a passion for sustainable gardening including the wonders of nature.
