Five Things to Know This Week

A hazardous waste collection will be held this Saturday at Heritage High School.

1. King Pinz will be hosting a night of family bowling on Tuesday, March 13. The entire family can enjoy unlimited bowling, one large pizza, and one soft drink per person for $50 for five people or fewer. 

2.  for Wednesday, March 14. Students will take appointments for salon services between the hours of 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the student's scheduled trip to New York City and scholarships in June. E-mail Dee.Edmonds@lcps.org to schedule an appointment or call 571-252-2092 if you have any questions.

3. , best-selling author of Last Child in the Woods and The Nature Principle, to the Piedmont —sparking ideas to help people and nature reconnect. The event will take place on Thursday, March 15 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 per adult and $8 per student and can be purchased online. The special lecture will take place at 801 N. King Street.

4. Check out this month's Off the Cuff performance at the Tally Ho Theater on Friday, March 16. The comedy show, which begins at 8 p.m., will feature local comedians Steve Heaton, David Sly, and CeCi Stephens. OTC presents an evening of high octane improv comedy and original sketches. This edgy, fast-paced show is geared towards an older audience, and is rated PG-13. 

5. Loudoun County will be offering a household hazardous waste collection on Saturday, March 17 at Heritage High School, in Leesburg. Local residents will have the chance to dispose of materials from their homes such as left over chemicals, fuels, mercury thermometers, pesticides and other potentially hazardous substances that should not be included with regular household garbage.
