Leesburg Offers Christmas Tree Recycling to Town Residents

There are no changes scheduled for trash or recycling collections during the holiday season.

 

The Town of Leesburg’s solid waste collection contractor (CSI) will collect non-artificial Christmas trees from residential customers as part of their regular recycling collection on the following days:

· Southeast & Southwest Quadrants                 January 5 & January 12

· Northeast & Northwest Quadrants                 January 6 & January 13

Please place Christmas trees at the curb before 6 a.m. on the day of collection and prepare trees for collection using the following guidelines:

· Remove all decorations from trees, including tinsel, angel hair and fake snow.

· Remove all lights

· Remove all twine, string and metal or plastic ties

· Remove stands and bases

· Do not place in plastic or “Christmas Tree Disposal” bags

Before January 5 and after January 13 Christmas trees with a trunk size of less than six inches in diameter will be collected as part of the town’s regular brush collection. Please follow the above guidelines and place trees at curb by Monday evening.

There will be no changes to the trash or recycling collection over the Christmas or New Year’s holidays this year. As a reminder, Town of Leesburg offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 2 in observance of the New Year’s holiday.
