Leesburg to Dedicate Tree at Ida Lee to Newtown Victims

The tree is intended to serve as a living memorial to those who lost their lives.

The Leesburg Town Council planned a dedication ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 11, for the Newtown Memorial Tree at Ida Lee Park.

The Newtown Memorial Tree is intended to serve as a living memorial to the 26 victims of the Dec. 14, 2002, Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, CT.  The tree will be planted near the Billy Cox Playground (near Rust Library).
