Loudoun County Named Richest County in America

With a median household income of $119,540, Loudoun County has trounced the competition.

Loudoun County ranks number one when it comes to the richest counties in America, according to an article that appeared on Yahoo Real Estate on March 8.

The most recent numbers were used from the Census Bureau data from 2010. Fifteen counties in the U.S. were chosen based on the highest median household income.

Three counties exceeded the $100,000 mark and Loudoun County ranked number one with a median household income of $119,540. As a result it is on it’s way to becoming the richest county in America.

The population has nearly doubled in population size from 2000 to 2010. The poverty rate is also at an incredibly low 3.2 percent.

Other top five counties included: 2) Fairfax County, Va., 3) Howard County, Md., 4) Hunterdon County, NJ, and 5) Arlington County, Va.
