Renée LaFollette Named Director of Capital Projects

LaFollette will be responsible for the design and construction management of all capital improvement projects undertaken by the town.

Leesburg Town Manager John Wells announced Thursday that Renée LaFollette has been named Director of Capital Projects for the town.

LaFollette has been serving as Acting Director of Capital Projects since October 2011. In her capacity as Director, she will be responsible for the design and construction management of all capital improvement projects undertaken by the town. Leesburg's current six-year Capital Improvements Program includes thirty-four projects and a total budget of over $75 million.

LaFollette joined the Town of Leesburg in November 2000 as a Senior Engineer in the Department of Engineering and Public Works, with the Office of Capital Projects Management.

In 2004, the office was separated into its own department. LaFollette was promoted to Deputy Director of Capital Projects in December 2009.

A licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio and Virginia, LaFollette holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction and Geotechnical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering from The Ohio State University. Prior to joining the Town of Leesburg, LaFollette worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation.
