Winter Storm Watch in Effect

Temperatures will remain in the mid 30s through Saturday. Rain and a snow mix is likely in our area.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch in effect from late tonight through Saturday afternoon. Snow is most likely in the moutains while rain and a snow mix may occur in other areas. There is a potential for five or more inches of snow along the Blue Ridge area.

The rain and snow mix is expected to change to snow by Saturday morning and will continue through Saturday afternoon. Temperatures will be in the mid 30s this evening and throughout the day on Saturday. Winds are expected to be Northeast around 5 mph on Saturday becoming Northwest at 10 to 20 mph.

A winter storm watch means there is potential for significant snow accumulations that may impact travel. Everyone is asked to use caution when traveling on the roads.
