LTE: Ashburn Resident Makes Case for May in Virginia 33rd Senate Race

An Independent can win, according to this letter.

Can an Independent win on Jan. 21?

Yes – as proven by legislators Senator Harry F Byrd Jr. and Delegate Lacey Putney, Independents can be very successful.

Independent Joe May is the best candidate in the Special Election for the 33rd Senate district seat – he will vote with his conscience for what is best for our district and state, without party pressures. In contrast, his Republican and Democrat opponents are political puppets, who face party disapproval if they don’t vote along party lines.

May is a very qualified, accomplished and intelligent candidate – his significant list of achievements has been earned by years of dedication and hard work. Some of his awards include Governor’s Legislative Leadership, Virginia’s Outstanding Industrialist of the Year Lifetime Achievement, Virginia Transit Legislator of the Year, NoVa Technology Council Tech Tenure, Greater Washington Area Engineer of the Year, Virginia Biotechnology Association Legislator of the Year, and recently, AAA Lifetime Achievement in Virginia Transportation Safety, for his “tireless efforts, dedication, fairness and service to Virginia motorists.”

In the House of Delegates, Joe has worked well with Congressman Frank Wolf, and many Loudoun County elected officials, to make our district a better place to live.

Many are disappointed with the inaction of our federal government. Help prevent this at the state level by voting on TUESDAY, JANUARY 21 for Independent Candidate Joe May, who has initiated significant bipartisan legislation over the years. He will continue to make positive things happen in our state legislature.
