'Peas in a Pod' Attempts to Link Comstock to Marshall in District 10 Race

Democrats say both "far outside the mainstream" with new website.

Two of the biggest names in the crowded Republican Primary fight in Virginia's 10th congressional district are getting a little closer with a new Democratic website.

Rep. Frank Wolf, a Republican, announced last year that he wouldn't seek another term, making the race to fill his seat one of the most closely watched in the country.

With Virginia Peas in a Pod, Democrats hope to link Del. Barabara Comstock, R-McLean, with Del. Bob Marshall, R-Manassas.

Comstock was an early candidate in the primary and has pulled in several high-profile GOP endorsements. Marshall is a controversial social conservative attempting to challenge Comstock from the right.

The website from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee argues both are outside Virginia’s mainstream.

“Bob Marshall and Barbara Comstock see eye to eye on nearly every issue, and in all of those cases they are far outside the mainstream,” said Josh Schwerin of the DCCC. “From opposing the bipartisan transportation compromise to supporting transvaginal ultrasounds, Barbara Comstock and Bob Marshall are two peas in a far-right pod.”
