WHAT: Car Free Days 2013 –– three days to pledge to go Car Free or Car-Lite
WHEN: Friday through Sunday, September 20 - 22, 2013
WHERE: Throughout the Washington metropolitan region; Washington D.C. and surrounding counties in Maryland and Virginia.
WHY: Car Free Day, September 22, falls on Sunday this year, and the Washington metropolitan region will celebrate with a three-day event. Commuters, families, and individuals can pledge to go Car Free or share the ride and go Car-Lite for one, two, or all three days— participants who register their pledge will be automatically entered in drawings for great prizes such as an iPad, an annual Bikeshare membership, pizza, and more.

Commuter Connections is a program of the National Capital Region Transportation Planning Board at the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. Commuter Connections promotes bicycling and ridesharing to work and other alternatives to drive alone commuting, and provides ridematching for carpools and vanpools and offers the free Guaranteed Ride Home program.
