About Lauren:
The solitude of the open road, loves lost and the harsh beauty of the Texas Sun -- these are just a few themes listeners will find in the songs of Lauren Fulbright.
Whether writing from the dimly lit interior of a British pub or driving the dusty back roads of the American Southwest, Lauren has long used music as a means to capture and understand the world around her.
A native of the Washington DC area, Lauren began singer and performing at age 4. Picking up the guitar as a teenager, Lauren drew upon influences like Jewel, Sarah McLachlan and Lori McKenna as she began to write her own songs.
A move to England at age 19 deepened this process, with early songs like "A Million Miles" and "Sleepless" chronicling her feelings at that time.
After graduating from Randolph-Macon Woman's College, Lauren moved to Austin, Texas, to pursue her dream of becoming a professional singer/songwriter. The people and places she encountered there became a strong inspiration for her writing.
Lauren returned home to get her master's degree in journalism at American University. She has written for newspapers in Baltimore and Virginia's beautiful Shenandoah Valley and continues to write professionally while pursuing her music career. She also teaches a teen yoga class at her family's business, Dream Yoga Studio & Wellness Center in McLean.

Her song "Sleepless" has recently been featured on 98.7 WMZQ, DC's Clear Channel country station.
She is currently working with multiple Grammy-award winning engineer Jim Robeson at Bias Studios.
Her upcoming 6-song EP, due in Winter 2013, will feature an all-star group of musicians, including Jon Carroll (pianist for Mary Chapin Carpenter), Rickie Simpkins (fiddle player for Emmylou Harris), electric guitarist Jason Byrd, petal steel player Casey O'Neal, and Robbie Magruder (former drummer for Carpenter).

She plans to release her full-length record, "Sleepless," next Spring.
