Middleburg Women Networking Lunch featuring local author, Susan McCorkindale

Middleburg Women luncheons are held at Briar Patch Bed & Breakfast Inn on the third Tuesday or Wednesday of every month from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. There's time for networking, eating an elegant meal, hearing from prominent women from all walks of life, and enjoying a chance to win fabulous door prizes.

This month's speaker:

Susan McCorkindale was born and raised in the Garden State. She loves Bruce Springsteen, the New York Giants, and the Jersey shore. A graduate of Marymount Manhattan College, Susan spent five long, hard minutes pursuing an acting career before making a detour into marketing. She has held top spots at Family Circle and Popular Science magazines, and today writes advertising copy on a freelance basis from the comfort of her farmhouse in Virginia.

Susan is also the author of two memoirs. The first, Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl, is the laugh out loud true tale of her move from the suburbs to the sticks. The second, 500 Acres and No Place to Hide: More Confessions of a Counterfeit Farm Girl, is her charming, poignant, and uproarious follow-up.

The mother of two sons and wife of one very patient and understanding farmer, Susan spends her free time pulling deer ticks off the dogs, playing the piano and wishing she had hands the size of Bruce Hornsby, and planning elaborate dinner parties at which the main dish is chicken.
