Leesburg Boy Recognized for Gathering Toys for Tots

Matthew Newcomer and his family have helped collect toys since 2006.

Since 2006, Matthew Newcomer, of Leesburg, and his family have helped Toys for Tots gather thousands of items for children who otherwise would not received gifts for Christmas, and this year is no different.

Last week, representatives from the Loudoun County Fire-Rescue System, the Loudoun County Marine Corps League and the Loudoun Local Firefighters IAFF Chapter 3756 gathered at the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company for the Matthew’s annual drop off.

Besides tapping into his network of friends and family, Matthew developed a partnership with Loudoun County Public Schools and opened his family home as a donation site. If you drop by the house, check out the train city put together just for donors to enjoy.
