Obituary: Franklin Roosevelt Barnett, 79

Franklin Roosevelt Barnett, 79, of Leesburg, VA, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, in Leesburg. Mr. Barnett was born Feb. 7, 1934, in Valley Grove, WV to the late Frederick N. and Lottie Gatewood Barnett. His wife Helen predeceased him. Frank was a master locksmith that owned and operated The Lock & Key Shop in Chicago, IL, for many years before selling the business and retiring in 1981 to Leesburg. During his retirement he was the Farm Manager at Westview Farm in Leesburg.  Frank enjoyed horses and loved going to the track. He also loved the Bouvier Dog Breed. Over the years he had many Bouviers and you may remember seeing him in town in his westview truck with his dogs, Horse and Muffin. Frank will be missed by many and remembered for wonderful sense of humor.

Mr. Barnett is survived by his beloved sisters:  Peggy Huber (George) of Leesburg, Genevieve Schehl of Wheeling, WV; several nephews including: Michael Huber(Kristi), Jeff Huber (Ellen), Rodney Huber (Marci), George Huber (Horija); numerous great nieces and nephews including: Matthew Huber, Lauren Huber Zullo, Lacey Huber, Emma Huber and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at the Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, in Leesburg. Interment will be held privately in Leesburg Union Cemetery.
