Rude response from VA Delegate

I recently sent my VA Delegate an email asking him to vote in favor of the Medicaid expansion provided under the Affordable Care Act. I got a "canned" response full of partisan rhetoric, invalid excuses and false accusations.  I replied to the Delegate to this effect with a single sentence, adding that I would not vote for him the next time he ran for office.  What I got back was an extremely scathing, rude and unprofessional response:

1. Labeling me – my email gave no indication of my political leanings.  I could be any VA resident who feels the Medicaid expansion is a good idea.

2. Saying I am the problem - Why, because I think he has an obligation to help his constituents?  There is NO valid reason to reject the Medicaid expansion - it's FREE and will cover 400,000 residents.

4. Insulting me - suggesting I am intellectually lazy.

5. Telling me not to write to him again because I’m wasting his time - It’s HIS JOB to LISTEN to the people he represents.

The Delegate is no doubt taking a lot of heat regarding his vote and my email didn't sit well with him. But if any VA delegate thinks sending out emails to his constituents with the tone/vocabulary he used is going to get him any votes in the future, he is living in fantasy. He should stick with canned responses and remember that courtesy is always the best approach.
