American Red Cross Joins Loudoun Fire Safety Efforts
Fifty volunteers helped canvas Leesburg neighborhoods with valuable information regarding fire safety.
Earlier this month, Loudoun County Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management teamed up with the American Red Cross National Capital Region and HOPE Worldwide to participate in an annual Martin Luther King Day of Service to help raise awareness of fire safety and prevention.
Fifty volunteers from the Loudoun Chapter of the American Red Cross and HOPE Worldwide, canvassed Leesburg neighborhoods with information on smoke alarms, fire safety and prevention.
Volunteers distributed materials to 494 homes and talked with 143 residents about ways to heat and cook safely, the value of smoke alarms and the need to create and practice a household fire escape plan.
