UPDATE: Attempted Robbery at Middleburg Bank

An arrest has been made after a late morning burglary occured earlier today.

 

Peggy Virginia Membreno, age 49 of no fixed address, was taken into custody today after she passed a note to a bank employee that implied her intentions to rob , located at 102 Catoctin Circle, SE in Leesburg. No weapon was used and there were no injuries reported.

Leesburg Police detectives charged Membreno with one count of attempted robbery. She was held with no bond by the Magistrate and is currently detained in the Loudoun County Detention Center.

According to Master Police Officer C.F. Tidmore, police are aware that Membreno was arrested in August of 2005 for a similar crime. She was charged with robbing a bank in Loudoun County and after conviction, served time in a federal penitentiary.

This case is still under investigation and further information will be released as it becomes available.
