Become a Crossing Guard with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office currently has a number of openings countywide and for the 2014-2015 school year. The hours vary from school to school during the times of 7:20AM and 8:35AM and 2:30PM and 3:50PM on weekdays during the school year.

Over 13,000 children walk to school in the county and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office needs responsible and energetic people to become crossing guards to help the students cross busy streets safely.

Some of the duties of a crossing guard include escorting children across busy crosswalks and/or intersections, monitoring the flow of traffic to ensure safe passage, and interacting with parents, school personnel, county employees, and others.
