Twice since Friday, deputies have been called regarding a mysterious man in camouflage reportedly carrying a weapon — one witness spotted the suspicious stranger after hearing a gunshot, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Both incidents were in the community around Belmont Ridge Middle School in Leesburg.

On Friday afternoon at 4:39 p.m., officers responded to a call on Habitat Circle regarding an unknown man walking in the tree line. The man was wearing camouflage and appeared to be carrying a weapon, according to the resident.

The area was searched, but nothing suspicious was seen by deputies.

At 10:24 p.m. on Monday, a few blocks over on Riverpoint Drive, a resident reported hearing a gunshot. The caller then observed a male subject wearing camouflage and a black hat, carrying a weapon.

The area was searched. Again, nothing suspicious was seen by deputies.
