Chapman to Appear on 'The Badge with Howard Safir'

The sheriff will highlight the declining crime rate in Loudoun County and how one of the nation's wealthiest and fastest growing counties is an attractive location for businesses and people to raise a family.

Loudoun County Sheriff Michael L. Chapman will be the guest on this week’s edition of “The Badge with Howard Safir” on SiriusXM Radio.  
  
Sheriff Chapman will highlight the declining crime rate in Loudoun County and how one of the nation’s wealthiest and fastest growing counties is an attractive location for businesses and people to raise a family.

Chapman will also discuss local and national crime trends and issues of concern in public safety. The program will air this Sunday, March 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on SiriusXM Stars (channel 107).  
  
Safir, the host of “The Badge”, is the former Police Commissioner of New York City, Director of Operations for the United States Marshals Service, and Assistant Director of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The program offers listeners the opportunity to get answers to questions they have for a law enforcement officer.

The program invites current and former police chiefs, agents, decorated officers, prosecutors, issue advocates and other top-level insiders to discuss, for example, what exactly happens when someone is arrested, the realities and myths of popular television shows like CSI, the consequences of cybercrime and the importance of protecting your identity, and issues surrounding career criminals and the complexities of letting repeat offenders walk.

Chapman will be appearing with other guests including Bill Tartaglia, former Commanding Officer of the NYPD Gang Unit and Gary McCarthy, current Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department.  
  
Chapman has served over 30 years in local and federal law enforcement. He served with the Howard County, MD, Police Department for seven years where he held positions in the Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions. He was also a member of the agency’s SWAT Team. For 23 years he served as a Special Agent with the United States Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). During his tenure with the DEA he was in charge of the DEA’s entire Far East operations.    
“The Badge” was launched on SiriusXM in January 2012.
