Deer Crashes Through Tysons Office Window

Animal put down after running through building, suffering "massive injury."

A deer died Monday after making a leap through the window of a Tysons Corner Office building, running around with "massive injury" before two officers were able to put it down.

Officer Bud Walker, a spokesman for the Fairfax County Police Department, said a caller contacted the department around 12:04 p.m. Monday to report a deer had crashed through a window in one of the suites at 8400 Westpark Drive.

The suite was evacuated as the deer continued to run around in the office, Walker said.

A patrol officer responded to the scene at 12:08 p.m., Walker said. The officer and an animal control officer were able to coax the deer into the corner of the suite and put it down with one shot fired, Walker said.

Twitter user anna_marie_maha said the deer was in the building for about an hour before being put down.

On Tuesday, Twitter user KC_Kreative said wood had been put over the hole in the window.
