Investigators Offer $1,500 in Franklin Park Vandalism Case

Damage estimate has reached $80,000 in May 17 incident, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Investigators are hoping that a cash reward will help in solving vandalism case that led to $80,000 in damage at Franklin Park in the Purcellville area.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, the Town of Purcellville, and Loudoun Crime Solvers area offering $1,500 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in connection with the May 17th incident.

On May 17th, park personnel discovered that unknown subjects accessed a work trucks at the park and used it do damage the park grounds and structures. The vandalism was discovered shortly after 7 a.m. 

On Tuesday, the Purcellville Town Council approved an additional $500 reward to be offered in the case.

“While this facility is not in our town, many of our families enjoy Franklin Park and all that it has to offer,” said Mayor Robert W. Lazaro, Jr.  “We want to do everything we can to assist the sheriff’s office to make an arrest in this case."

Loudoun Crime Solvers initially offered a cash reward of up to $1000 for any information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
