Jewelry, Silver, China Reported Taken in Leesburg Burglaries

Investigators seek leads in cases that allegedly nabbed more than $87,000 worth of valuables.

The Leesburg Police Department is investigating a series of residential burglaries that have recently occurred where jewelry, antique china, and silverware was targeted.

A resident reported the first incident Sept. 21 on the 300 block of Country Club Drive SW. The resident reported than an unknown person or persons entered the home between 12:50 p.m. and 1:25 p.m., through an unlocked door and took numerous items, including sterling silver flatware and jewelry.

The next incident was reported Oct. 3 at a residence on the 200 block of Wirt Street NW. The victim reported that an unknown person or persons entered the home sometime between 4:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. through an unlocked door and took numerous items, including a china set, a sterling silver flatware set and jewelry.

The estimated value of the reported property totaled more than $87,000.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about these crimes or who may have seen anything suspicious in those areas to call Detective Zodrow or Detective Drogin at 703-771-4500.
