LCSO Investigating Sterling Bank Robbery

Detectives seek anyone with information about the masked suspect.

An armed man wearing a mask walked into the Wells Fargo Bank at Community Plaza in Sterling around 10:20 a.m. Thursday and demanded money, according to a report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured. In addition to the mask, the suspect wore a maroon Florida State sweatshirt during the robbery.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to contact Detective M. Grimsley of the LCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division at 703-777-0475. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous, can call Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919. If the information provided to Crime Solvers leads to an arrest and indictment, the caller could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.

This information was supplied by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and, where charges were made, does not indicate a conviction. For questions about this article, email dusty@patch.com.
