Leesburg Man Dies after Suffering Serious Injuries in Car Crash

Ronnie Lewis Miller, 60, died in a Ranson, W.Va. hospital Sunday after a vehicle driven by his son, Michael Allen Rollison, 43, struck another car and overturned.

A Leesburg man has died after a car crash on Sunday afternoon.

Ronnie Lewis Miller, 60, succumbed to injuries he received in the crash, while being treated at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va., according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Miller was a passenger in a 1990 Ford Bronco driven by his son, Michael Allen Rollison, 43, also of Leesburg, when that vehicle struck a 2006 Kia Sorento travelling north on Harpers Ferry Road at about 2 p.m.

The Kia was pushed further north, but the Kia struck and embankment and flipped.

The Kia’s driver, David Norris, 69, of Frederick, Md., and his wife were uninjured, according to police.

Rollison has been charged with felony driving under the influence of alcohol, for his third offense in 10 years. He was being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond as of Sunday evening.

Neither Rollison nor Miller were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, and the Ford was not equipped with airbags, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies are still investigating the crash, and ask anyone who may have knowledge of what Rollison and Miller were doing prior to the crash to contact DFC J. McClintic with the Loudoun Sheriff Crash Investigation Unit at 703-771-5798.
