Leesburg Man Safe After Threatening Suicide
Police responded quickly to report from wife of armed husband.
A Leesburg man was taken into custody and evaluated Monday night after his wife reported that he was threatening suicide.
Leesburg Police officers reported to the 400 block of Foxridge Drive SW after receiving a call at 11:39 p.m. Jan. 9 from the wife, who said her husband was suicidal and armed with a handgun, according to a report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Officers were on the scene within two minutes and surrounded the home. A short time later, the man walked out of the home holding a gun. Officers began talking to the man and he eventually placed the gun on the ground.
The 42-year-old man was taken into custody and then taken to Loudoun Hospital Center for evaluation. No injuries were reported.
