Leesburg Police Continue to Investigate Suspicious Death

Detectives with the Leesburg Police Department are awaiting additional information from the Virginia Medical Examiners Northern District Office following the death of Izamar Carmona-Pacheco, 20, a Mexican National who was found inside of an apartment located at The Fields of Leesburg last Friday.

Officers responded to 807-L, Edwards Ferry Rd, NE around 12:40 a.m. that day after receiving a call in reference to a female who was unconscious and unresponsive. Carmona-Pacheco was located in a bedroom within the residence.

According to Master Police Officer Christopher Tidmore, initial observations determined the death appeared to be suspicious. The incident is contained, he said, and there is absolutely no threat to the public or community. Any further information will be released as the investigation continues.
