Leesburg Police Investigating Fort Evans Death

Investigators believe the death resulted from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Thursday night, Leesburg Police officers found a man dead in an apartment on the 100 block of Fort Evans Road NE after receiving a call from his parents concerned for his welfare.

As dispatcher gathered information, officers on the scene heard a gunshot and worked to determine the location, according to a Leesburg Police press release. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team was also at the scene.

Leesburg’s Emergency Response Tactical Team entered the man’s apartment and found him deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the release. No one else was found in the apartment.

Leesburg detectives immediately began an investigation. There appears to be no public danger at this time, according to the release.
