Leesburg Police: 'Suspicious' Pair Identified

Investigators are hoping to locate a man and woman recorded via surveillance camera near location.

UPDATE: Leesburg Police have identified the people from the surveillance camera.

Shortly before 11 p.m., the Leesburg Police Department received a call reporting that money was taken from the cash register at Chimole Wine and Tapas Lounge, 10 South King Street, in the downtown area. The caller did not witness the reported theft.

At that time, a man a woman were in the restaurant, based on surveillance images captured from inside the restaurant, and investigators believe they may have helpful information about the incident.

“They were patrons,” said Lt. Jeff Dubé, a spokesman for the police department. “We want to talk to them at this point.”

Investigators are seeking the identities of two. In a press release, they were identified as "suspicious," but they are not being called suspects.

Descriptions of the two diners:

  • Female: white, 5-foot-4” to 5-foot-7, 150-180 pounds, long blond hair
  • Male: white, 6 feet to 6-foot-4, 180-220 pounds, long brown hair
