Loudoun Football League's Past President Charged with Embezzlement

The Purcellville man is accused of taking about $50,000 from the league.

A Purcellville man was recently charged with embezzling approximately $50,000 from the Upper Loudoun Youth Football League, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Members of the LCSO's Financial Crimes Unit arrested Raymond J. Taylor, 44, Thursday, Oct. 6, on six counts of felony embezzlement. Taylor is alleged to have embezzled the money between February and September 2011, while he was president of the league.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office learned of the possible theft in late September after board members of the Upper Loudoun Youth Football League discovered irregularities in the league's accounts.
