LPD Seeks Witnesses in Pizza Hut Robbery

Restaurant on Fort Evans Road robbed Monday by a lone man bearing a knife, police say.

The Leesburg Police Department is hoping to find witnesses to a Monday night robbery at the on Fort Evans Road in Leesburg.

Police spokesman Christopher Tidmore said in an email Tuesday that an employee was approached by a lone male suspect around 10:50 p.m. Monday at the door of the restaurant.

The man then forced his way into the restaurant, ordering the employee to the back of the store as he displayed a knife. The suspect attempted to cover his face with a purple bandanna as the employee opened the register, Tidmore wrote.

The suspect ordered the employee onto the ground as he fled the area.

No injuries were reported as a result of the robbery, Tidmore wrote.

The suspect is described as a black man approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, standing around 200 lbs.

The suspect was wearing a purple bandanna, possibly bearing logos of the Baltimore Ravens; a white shirt with blue lettering; and light-colored shorts, Tidmore said. He was unshaven with some stubble on his face.
