Man Wanted for 1991 Murder That Left a Co-worker Dead in Leesburg

After shooting one victim, the suspect turned his attention to a brother and fled.

The Leesburg Police Department continues to seek the man accused of gunning down a co-worker and attempting to kill the victim’s brother 22 years ago.

While the suspect has been identified as Bao Gia Luong, authorities have never brought him to justice.

Witnesses reported that Luong had arguing with Ngau Ly and Doung Ly in the days prior to the shooting, and that those arguments turned physical.

Around 5:45 a.m. Sept. 26, 1991, as the Ly brothers sat in a vehicle along Catoctin Circle prior to their workday beginning, Luong reportedly approached Ngau Ly and opened fire, striking the victim in the neck and killing him.

Doung Ly ran, but was caught by Luong; however, Luong had run out of bullets Ly got away, but was severely injured.

Luong fled n a gold 1986 Pontiac STE. That was later recovered in Pennsylvania.

Luong has nott been seen since the incident, but investigators determined that his destinations appeared to include Harrisburg, PA, Silver Spring, MD, San Jose, CA. 

Luong was 33 at the time of the shooting. Investigators have released an old photo of the man as well as photo adjusted with an age progression. Now 55, investigators believe he might be back working in construction.
