Maryland Woman Dies after Route 15 Crash

Loudoun County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to two-vehicle crash Christmas Day.

A woman involved in a two-car crash Tuesday on Route 15 has died.

In a statement Thursday, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said Annalee S. Marshall, 20, of Adamstown, Md., had succumbed to injuries from the Christmas Day crash at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Deputies responded to a report of a crash around 12:43 p.m. Tuesday on Route 15 near Black Walnut Lane.

According to the LCSO, Marshall was driving her 1997 Honda Civic northbound on the road "when she ran off the east shoulder and overcorrected, crossing into the southbound lane."

Marshall's car struck a 2005 Acura 4-door car driving in the opposite direction.

Two passengers in the Acura were treated for minor injuries, the LCSO said

"A third passenger in the Acura, Scott Tarner, Jr., 23, was also airlifted to Inova Fairfax hospital where he was listed in stable condition," the office's statement reads.

Marshall was airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital on Tuesday, and died there on Thursday.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this case.
