One Leesburg Teen Remains Missing, One Located

The Leesburg Police Department continues to seek information about the whereabouts of the other girl.

The Leesburg Police Department has located one of two girls who went missing earlier this week and continue to seek information about the second girl.

The girls ran away from the Douglass School in Leesburg, heading toward the W&OD Trail around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Lt. Jeff Dubé said  Elena Velazquez has been located, but Evelyn Diaz remains missing.

“We are still actively looking for Diaz,” he said.

Diaz is 15 years old, 5-foot-2 and 110 pounds, according to a description provided by the police. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt, black hoodie-style sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The Leesburg Police Department is asking that anyone with information about the whereabouts of Diaz to call (703) 771-4500.
