Police Investigate Apparent Suicide

Man found in Church Street Friday morning apparently jumped to his death from county government parking garage, his identity has not yet been released

Leesburg Police are still investigating an apparent suicide that occurred in downtown Leesburg Friday morning, but have not released the subject’s identity.

According to Lt. Wes Thompson, spokesman for the Leesburg Police Department, the 20 - 30-year-old man was found lying in Church Street at about 7:30 a.m. by a passerby.

The man apparently jumped from the Loudoun County government parking garage, located adjacent to the Loudoun County government complex at 1 Harrison St. SE in Leesburg.

“The detectives determined it was a suicide,” Thompson wrote in an e-mail to Leesburg Patch. “His identity has not been released,” he added, be pending a medical examiner’s report.

Thompson did not comment on any suspected motives in the apparent suicide.
