Residents Encouraged to Learn About Project Lifesaver
The LCSO plan to attend the Village at Leesburg's 3rd Annual Summer Block Party Saturday to raise awareness about the electronic-based tracking system for people with medical conditions.
Representatives from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Project Lifesaver Program and the Loudoun County Disability Services Board plan to attend the Village at Leesburg’s 3rd Annual Summer Block Party on Saturday.
The LCSO has teamed with the DSB to raise awareness about the Project Lifesaver Program, an electronic-based tracking system for people with medical conditions—including Alzheimer’s, Autism and others—that have a tendency to wander from home and become lost.
The program allows Loudoun deputies certified as electronic search specialists to fit clients with a wristband transmitter that emits a tracking signal. If a client becomes lost, the certified deputies can use a mobile antenna and hand-held directional device to locate the person.

Deputies who have been trained in the program will attend the block party, which runs from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. July 14.
