Sycolin Now Open after Ruptured Gas Line Shut It Down Friday Morning

The incident has delayed the opening for some county offices on Sycolin and Miller Drive.

Authorities have shut down Sycolin Road from Tolbert Drive to Miller Drive in Leesburg because of a ruptured 12-inch gas main.

The rupture occurred near county government offices at 801 and 803 Sycolin Road and 750 Miller Road; those offices will have delayed openings at 10 a.m. as workers make repairs. The intersection at Tavistock Drive SE has also been closed.

Other county facilities in that area can be accessed from the south by Cochran Mill, Shreve Mill or Belmont Ridge roads.
