Suspect in Hit and Run, Stolen Truck Arrested in Sterling
A citizen identified the truck and contacted authorities, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect in a hit and run with a stolen truck was apprehended on Thursday, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
James L. Jack, 50, of no fixed address, is charged with auto theft and driving while a habitual offender. Jack is also facing additional charges from the Town of Leesburg in connection with the hit and run.
Jack was located following a citizens report that they spotted the stolen truck in the area of Briarcroft Plaza in Sterling, according to an LCSO release.
The truck was involved in a hit and run in the area of Fort Evans Road and the Route 7/Route 15 Bypass on Wednesday. Law enforcement released an image of what the truck looks like and security footage of the suspect.
The truck, a 2005 Freightliner, was reported stolen May 7 from the area of Route 50 near Fleetwood Road. It was recovered and returned to the owner.
Jack remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
